Check out my new Highchair!

Addi always seems to be under my feet in the kitchen which can be a bit of a dangerous problem so we finally went out and bought her a groovy new, green Chicco highchair so I can strap her in and she'll still feel "in" on whatever I'm doing since she's up high enough to see the counter tops and stove. Inadvertently, it is also nice to have to feed her in although she does really well sitting on your lap while having food shoveled in! It is pretty sweet and she loves it most of the time. Here are a few pics of her in her new digs. Isn't she the cutest ever!

What have you done to me????

Table to Tray...

Another thing I love about this simple magic bullet is that I can take our dinner straight from the table, dump some in the bullet & in seconds Addi can safely eat just about whatever we are having for dinner! Again, so simple.

For example, the other night I made my mother in law's famous chicken soup. It is so so so good and Addison loves the brothy part but I wanted her to get some of the actual chicken and veggies so I just scooped a bunch into the magic bullet and gave it a whirl. In seconds Addi was enjoying the same scrumptious meal we were having, again - very little extra work for me, YIPPEE! and I didn't have to worry about potato, chicken or carrot chunks that might choke my 2 1/2 tooth baby. LOVE IT!

So Far...

Some of the yummy yumms my little tyke has enjoyed so far are...

bananas + oatmeal
bananas + oatmeal + strawberries
oatmeal + strawberries
oatmeal + strawberries + blueberries
**I just cooked some regular rolled oats with a bit of water in the microwave and then added frozen berries to cool it off in the blender. One nice thing about the Magic Bullet is that you can cook, blend, & store the food all in one container! Fabulous!!! Less mess.

carrots
carrots + broccoli
carrots + broccoli + pork roast
**I steamed the carrots & broccoli first in the microwave for a couple of minutes before tossing them into the blender.

apples
apples + strawberries

**One thing I do also, to make sure Adds gets the proper nutrition her little body needs, is to toss in a scoop of Enfamil formula or some whole grain baby oatmeal cereal.

Oh yeah, can't forget the SWEET POTATOES simply steamed in the microwave and then blended to a slightly chunky mush. These seem to be one of Addi's favorite treats.

I have to add a note here, I have tasted every one of these homemade baby foods and so far there are none that I wouldn't actually eat myself. That says a lot in my book!

Baby food for my Baby

I've been toying with the idea of making my own BABY FOOD for my sweet little babe, now that she's started solids and only has a nip of mother's milk throughout the day.

I bought a Magic Bullet to help me puree at the speed of light and it has worked wonders so far. I recommend it as it is so convenient to use and doesn't take much as far as clean up, which I really like!
So my plan is to use this blog to keep track of the yummy concoctions I come up with for my sweet little Adds. If you stumble upon this blog and have some great ideas of your own I'd love to hear about them.

Bon Appetit!
